"Because then you’re watching television, you’re watching the news, you’re being pumped full of fear, there’s floods, there’s AIDS, there’s murder. Cut to commercial, buy the Acura, buy the Colgate, if you have bad breath, they’re not going to talk to you, if you have pimples, the girl’s not going to fuck you, and it’s just this campaign of fear, and consumption, and that’s what I think it’s all based on, the whole idea of ‘keep everyone afraid, and they’ll consume.’"

I’m ranting, okay?

I was in detention today for eating chippies that my friend had bought and another girl was in there for eating an apple on the senior floor. I swear to God so many teachers are just on fucking power trips. They abuse their authority and they keep going overboard with punishments.

There are kids that wag every single day, and nothing ever happens to them. Then there are people who eat an apple in the wrong place and they get detention.

I’ve been in classrooms where people having been ranting on about how horrible gay people are, or black people and the shit they say is absolutely disgusting, but nothing happens to them. Teachers don’t say anything and it’s bullshit.

Some teacher’s will see you up at the shops and smile, others with threaten to suspend you. Either enforce the rules or don’t. Don’t make it so that some kids get away with everything, and other people are excessively punished.

If you don’t count maths, I’m practically a straight A student, yet I have my year level coordinator threatening to suspend me because I ate chips that my friend went up to the shops and bought in their free period. But then there are kids who graff everything, who verbally and physically abuse people, who start fights and NOTHING happens to them.

That doesn’t teach us to behave. That doesn’t teach people values. I’m not learning my lesson or whatever the hell is supposed to be happening. They only thing the school is teaching me is that I can work my arse off and still be punished for shit I didn’t do. I’m learning not to trust people. That authority figures like my teachers actually don’t give a shit about my education. I’m learning that there’s a huge fucking double standard in this world, and I’m learning that everything is fucking bullshit. Nothing is fair, and that won’t change.

School’s aren’t there to help us gain knowledge. School is there to help us learn to put up with things we don’t like, to teach us to obey authority figures who make us do shit we don’t want to do. School is programming us to allow ourselves to be walked over and just to suck it up because the older people in power are telling you to do something, so we do it.

I used to love school when I was younger. I used to be like a little knowledge sponge. I’m not anymore. I hate school. I hate the education system. The whole thing is a fucking joke. They don’t care about my education, they don’t care whether I’m a good person with good morals and opinions or not. They don’t care that I work my arse off to get good grades to try and make something of myself. They only care if I can follow their bullshit rules. And that sucks. I can’t wait to get out of this place.
